  • We landed on a narrow, driftwood-cluttered beach to photograph bears feeding on a whale. The left wheel got buried while landing and had to be dug out. It was about a mile hike to where the bears were feeding on the whale and we had to climb some rocks at the waters edge so, timing the waves was crucial. I didn't quite time it right and got soaked.

  • BEARS FEEDING ON WHALE-Kamishak Bay, Alaska--We were about 30 yards from the bears and needless to say a little nervous. These guys are very fast! We stayed bunched together to appear bigger than a bear. Fortunately, the bears were more interested in the whale then us! It was cold and raining so we had to keep our cameras and lens's covered with plastic. We got to watch and shoot for about two hours.
